Die for me

My life had always been blissfully, wonderfully normal. But it only took one moment to change everything.

Suddenly, my sister, Georgia, and I were orphans. We put our lives into storage and moved to Paris to live with my grandparents. And I knew my shattered heart, my shattered life, would never feel normal again. Then I met Vincent.

Mysterious, sexy, and unnervingly charming, Vincent Delacroix appeared out of nowhere and swept me off my feet. Just like that, I was in danger of losing my heart all over again. But I was ready to let it happen.

Of course, nothing is ever that easy. Because Vincent is no normal human. He has a terrifying destiny, one that puts his life at risk every day. He also has enemies . . . immortal, murderous enemies who are determined to destroy him and all of his kind.

While I'm fighting to piece together the remnants of my life, can I risk putting my heart—as well as my life and my family's—in jeopardy for a chance at love?

When I saw the cover of this book I was already interested in reading it, before I even knew what kind of story this would be. And then I saw the (negative) reviews of other readers. However, that didn't stop me from reading it. I think this is a fantastic book. And I totally disagree with people who gave this a bad review. (It's nothing personal :D)

I can tell you that I love this story. The setting is fantastic, Paris!! The city of love...sigh...

After they loose their parents in a car accident, Kate and Georgia move to Paris to go live with their grandparents. Both girls handle their loss in their own way.
When Kate decides to go out, and ends up reading in a little restaurant, she meets Vincent. Vincent is a very handsome boy with a secret that Kate will find out very soon.
It's a fantastic love story. Love the character Vincent. He is a real old fashioned gentleman. And handsome, but I mentioned that already. Also, he gives Kate a fantastic feeling. But Kate is so afraid to let her self feel again, afraid to lose him, that she pushes him away and out of her life. But that's not everything of course...

It's a story about love, trust, families and....a very big secret. But I think you should read this for your self.
It is a 'one of a kind' book. A book like this, with such a great setting and such fantastic characters, is unique. (Although I do think every book is unique in its own way.)

I can tell you that I was really disappointed when I reached the end of this fantastic book so soon. But, there is a sequel being made and I hope to read it very soon :D

Fallen in Love

Genre: YA, Paranormal, Romance, Fantasy
Rating: 4 Stars
Pages: 201

Unexpected. Unrequited. Forbidden. Eternal. Everyone has their own love story.

And in a twist of fate, four extraordinary love stories combine over the course of a romantic Valentine's Day in Medieval England. Miles and Shelby find love where they least expect it. Roland learns a painful lesson about finding-and losing love. Arianne pays the price for a love so fierce it burns. And for the first -and last- time, Daniel and Luce will spend a night together like none other.

Lauren Kate's FALLEN IN LOVE is filled with love stories . . . the ones everyone has been waiting for.

True love never says goodbye . .

First of all, don't you love the cover of this book? It fits perfectly with the other books. It's sooo beautiful.

I love the idea of a book that just lets us see what our favorite characters of this serie do on the same Valentine's day. Some of their stories are so incredible sweet. And some of them are just something else. But you also learn about these characters. So I like it a lot.

And don't you love this book in your collection with the other books of Fallen?

I can tell you it's worth reading it. But I think it's necessary that you read the other books of Fallen first.

"Sometimes love needed a lift from it's guardian angels, to get it's feet off the ground. But once it made it's first early beats toward flight, it had to be trusted to take wing on it's own and soar past the highest conceivable heights, into the heavens-and beyond."

In My Mailbox (1)

Hi everyone!

This is my first time I am going to show you what is In My Mailbox and I can tell you it's yummy :D

I bought these a few weeks ago and I finally got them. I am not a very patient person so I am very happy that they came in my mail this week.

Can't wait to read them. What do you think about these books? Without telling me spoilers :D

Feature & Follow Friday (1)

Today, I found the 'Alison can read' blog and I was immediately enthusiastic about it.
Its weekly 'Feature & Follow' meme is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee and Alison.
Through these posts you can find new followers and read about their books :D
And I really like that.

So I joined this blog immediately, because I thought this would be very fun.

The question for today is:
Which book genre do you avoid at all costs and why?

I think that would be Western. I don't know why I don't like these kind of books. But it's just something I'd never read. I don't like cowboys. You can give me books with handsome vampires, werewolves or other handsome guys. Because I really like fantasy books :D But no cowboys!
I am sorry for the fans of western.

Being the good girl isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Ashton Gray has grown weary of playing the part to please her parents, and to be worthy of the town’s prince charming, Sawyer Vincent. Maybe That’s why she’s found herself spending time with Sawyer’s cousin, Beau, while he’s away for the summer camping with his family. Beau is nothing like her perfect boyfriend. He’s the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, dangerous in ways she’s only day dreamed about, and the one guy she should stay away from.
Beau never envied Sawyer his loving parents, his big nice home, or his position as quarterback. He loves him like a brother. Which is why he's tried everything in his power to keep his distance from Sawyer’s girlfriend. Even if he has loved her since the age of five, Ashton is Sawyer’s girl, so therefore she’s off limits. But when Sawyer leaves for the summer, Ashton, the one girl Beau would move Heaven and Earth for, decides she wants to get into trouble. Stabbing the one person who’s always accepted him and stood by him in the back, is the cost of finally holding Ashton Gray in his arms. Is she worth losing his cousin over?.... Hell Yeah.

(contains spoilers)
Thoughts:

Ashton, Beau and Sawyer have always been friends, from childhood 'till now. Beau and Sawyer are cousins and when Beau's father dies they become even closer, more like brothers. Beau and Ashton always did crazy things, like trowing water balloons or hanging out on the roof and looking at the stars. But when they grew older, and both Ashton and Sawyer got into a relationship, they didn't hear anything from each other anymore. Until now.

Sawyer is enjoying his Summer vacation with his family. After a party, Beau and his girlfriend Nicole had too much to drink, so Ashton drives them home. When Nicole is at her house, Ashton and Beau talk with each other and decide to renew their friendship. Ashton also decides that she doesn't want to be a good girl anymore and wants Beau to help her. When Beau calls her to go swimming at the lake, she says yes. When they are at the lake they find out that there is a chemistry between them. But both of them don't want to go there because of Sawyer. But you know how it is with love...

When Ashtons Grandma dies she runs to Beau and despite that they do not want to hurt Sawyer, they really get too close with each other. Beau loves her but only wants to comfort her. But he isn't perfect and neither is Ashton so you can figure out for your self what happened...

Then, before the funeral, Sawyer comes back. And because Beau and Ashton don't want to hurt him they quit seeing each other. But Sawyer isn't blind and a few days after the funeral he finds out about Beau and Ashton. I felt soo sorry for him. But Beau is sooo much better for her, and he knows everything about her. He knows the real Ashton.

Of course the boys get in a fight in the bar of Beau's mother. Because they won't stop, Beau's mother tells them a secret about the two of them. They end the fight and Sawyer goes home.

The next day Ashton and Sawyer see each other at school. But that's not all... The whole school hates Ashton because of what she has done to Sawyer. And the worst thing...Beau is gone! After school, Ashton visits Beau's mother to ask her if she knows where he is. But she tells her that he has a lot to think about and she doesn't know where he is en when he is coming back. Every day after school Ashton goes to the bar, leaves messages for Beau and talks with his mother.

A week later Beau is back. But he is not the same. He is really mad at Sawyer because of what everybody has done to Ashton and he gives him a concussion. It's sweet but it isn't nice of Beau. Ashton goes to Sawyer to see how he is doing and they have a talk. They decide to get back to being friends and Sawyer gives her his blessing to start a relationship with Beau.

Isn't it fantastic?!! Boys fight and become friends again all the time, but when it comes to girls they would easily never again speak to each other. I am so happy for all 3 of them. But mostly, for Beau and Ashton of course :D

Darkness Falls

Genre: Fantasy
Rating: 3 - 3,5
Pages: 392

Nastasya has lived for hundreds of years, but for some reason, life never seems to get any better. She left her spoiled, rich girl life to find peace at River's Edge, a safe haven for wayward immortals. There, she learned to embrace River's Edge, despite some drama involving the sexy Reyn, who she wants but won't allow herself to have. But just as she's getting comfortable, her family's ties to dark magick force her to leave.

She falls back into her old, hard partying ways, but will her decision lead her into the hands of a dark immortal? Or will it be her first step to embracing the darkness within her?

***
(contains spoilers)
Thoughts:

Nastasya and Reyn have a thing, that is very obvious. But what about their history? I would freak out if I found out that the man I like killed my family! Even if he did lose his own family in the process. Still... He was a bad guy. Really bad, evil bad. Though it's obvious he wants to be good now, seeing how he has joined River's house. So that should say something. Right? Nastasya likes him but doesn't know what she wants from him.

And now everything that could go wrong, goes wrong after the ritual at New Year's Eve. Nasty says goodbye to darkness. But it looks like darkness isn't finished with her.
The sweet sister of Anne, Amy comes to visit. She is gorgeous and so sweet. And falls for Reyn!! That's not all. She also gets very freaky visions in her dreams about Incy, and becomes afraid of him. And last but not least, she gets fired and loses the trust of the two girls she was helping, sort of.
When she tried to get her job back and failed, she drove back in her car and the car got a life of its own. She crashed into the tree at River's house and thankfully broke only her nose.

A few days later Nasty finds out that darkness is still with her and she freaks out. It is of course then, that Incy finds her. And what does this stupid girl do? She gets back to her old life!! Incy takes her back to her old friends. And for a few moments Nastasya is happy to get back to her old life. The parties, people and room service are fantastic! Until she finds out that Incy has changed. Or was he always like this, without her noticing it?
Until one night, when they are in a freaky bar and Nasty feels the darkness in there, she realizes she doesn't belong with Incy. Thus, she wants to leave. Boz and Katy also want to leave. Incy is seemingly okay with that and they get the car and leave. However, in the car Incy gets mad and drives them to a place full of darkness. He wants the powers of Nastasya, and kills Boz and Katy first. At the last moment Nastasya is rescued (no, there are more things but you should read the book first) by River, Reyn and the teachers and they take care of her at River's house...

The last part of the book is sooo fantastic that I truly recommend you read it yourself! Then again, not only the last part of this book is fantastic, it's the whole story that is fantastic! :D

Rating: 4 stars

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Magic is dangerous--but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London's Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What's more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa's power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by--and torn between--two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm's length...everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world...and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Thoughts:

What a fantastic book! I like the writing styl that Cassandra Clare has.
In this book we'll meet Tessa a sweet girl that is looking for her brother. He is the only family she still have and he is missing. In her search to find her brother she will be kidnapped by the dark sisters. And with the dark sisters she'll find out she can do a lot more than being only a 16 year old girl. And its creepy. Thats what I think. And I think I really freak out, more than Tessa thit.

And then...the dark sisters would like to introduce Tessa to the Magister. When she finds out what is realy going an, shes being rescued by handsome Will. After leaving the Dark Sisters, she lives in the Institute, which is the home to Shadowhunters.
Then the first part of Tessa's story in the Institute she is being introduced to the Shadowhunters. And I can say that those people are really interesting to read about. Everyone of them is different but lovely in there own way. I adore the character Jem. And I dont know what I should think about Will. But Tessa is challenging herself to find out who Will is and what has happened to him. And she falls in love. But he is just some stupid boy. And I really think she should just go with Jem. Jem is such a sweet boy. But that's just what I think about it.

Oh...and there will be a lot ofaction in the last part of the book. It was sooo exciting to read. And I think that Tessa suprised everyone with her actions.

I cant wait to read Clockwork Prince. And I will let you know how I think about that book.
