Q: Have you ever bought a book BECAUSE of a bad review?
A: I really don't think that I especially read a book because of a bad review. But I often read the reviews of other people on goodreads. And when I really think it's a good book even if a lot of people gave them bad reviews I really like to read them, and see it for my self.

Oh yeah, Goodreads is behind a lot of book buying. In fact I think most of it results from reading reviews on Goodreads. If it hadn't been invented I would invent it, that's how awesome I think it is.

I haven't read because of a bad review. If a lot of my goodreads friends hate a book I definitely take heed because I know and trust their taste. But if it's the last in a series I plan to read I still finish it because I like conclusions.

Great answer. Sometimes a bad review can make you aware of a book that you know you'd like.
