Memorable Monday 2

Its time for Memorable Monday hosted by Escape in a book. I think the idea of this is great! You can share your favorite quotes in a weekly meme.

This week the quote I want to share with you is one of my favorite autors Gail Carriger. And it's from the book Soulless

“How ghastly for her, people actually thinking, with their brains, and right next door. Oh, the travesty of it all.”

Everytime I read this quote I can't stop laughing. It's so funny :D

I am very curious about your quote this monday, want to share it with me?
Have a nice day!

In My Mailbox (4)

Hi everyone!

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren that gives bloggers the opportunity to showcase the books they’ve received that week.

And today I've got some fantastic books. :D

I am already reading Shiver. But I really don't know what to think about it. It's cute and also sad. But is that all? I hope not.

And what about you? What do you got in your mailbox?

Mariska

Review: Delirium

Before scientists found the cure, people thought love was a good thing. They didn’t understand that once love -- the deliria -- blooms in your blood, there is no escaping its hold. Things are different now. Scientists are able to eradicate love, and the government demands that all citizens receive the cure upon turning eighteen. Lena Holoway has always looked forward to the day when she’ll be cured. A life without love is a life without pain: safe, measured, predictable, and happy.

But with ninety-five days left until her treatment, Lena does the unthinkable: She falls in love.

This is an extraordinary story. I've never read a book like this, but I really liked it.
It's about a world where love is an illness, and when you got it, you'll get brainwashed or "cured" so you don't have it no more. This only happens to people who 18 years old or older. However, an exeption is made when you're nearly 18 and you are just to ill because of love.

I have to say that it took me ages to get through the first part of the book, I almost stopt reading it altogether, but alot of people told me I just had to get through that part and that I would love the book in the end. They were right!

You get to know Lena when she lives with here aunt, uncle and cousins, her parents have died and her sister and brother-in-law live someplace else. Lena knows what her future will look like and she can't wait to start her knew life. She's almost done with school and after the summer she will also get the brainwash-treatment. Her best friend Hanna is also on the same scedule, which means they can enjoy one last summer together. After the treatment it's most likely that they no longer are going to be best friends, because they are from different enviroments and they just do mingle in the adult world.

But then there's an unexpected twist to the usual so normal summertime. Lena meets Alex, a boy who supposedly already went through the treatment. Because everyone thinks he is "cured" she's allowed to hang out with him, but then he tells her his secret. Talking to Alex makes her realise that there is a whole different world out there and even though she doesn't want to give up all the securities and dive head first in the unknown, she does start to doubt. It takes her a long time to make the decisions she wants to make and confince herself to go and live a whole different life.

This book is full of friendship, excitement and love and I can definitely recommend reading it! :D

This is the first Memorable Monday hosted by Escape in a book. I think the idea of this is great! You can share your favorite quotes in a weekly meme.
And I have a favorite quote. It's a long time ago when I read this book but the quote still stick with me.

"Life fractures us all into little pieces. It harms us, but it's how we glue those fractures back together that make us stronger"

This quote is from Entice by Carrie Jones. I think it is a fantastic quote, don't you?

Have a nice monday everone!
